These terms govern use of sgolist.com (the "Service"), operated by SGOlist. By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

What SGOlist is

SGOlist is a national directory and set of tools for Scholarship Granting Organizations, families looking for K-12 scholarship programs, and donors learning about state tax credit programs. The Service publishes directory listings, state program information, resources, and optional account features (family profiles, listing claims, and SGO dashboards).

SGOlist does not award scholarships, admit students, or process donations to SGOs. Contacting an SGO through the site sends an inquiry to that organization. Any scholarship or donation relationship is between you and that organization or your state program — not SGOlist.

Accounts

Some features require an account (via Clerk). You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close an account that appears abusive, fraudulent, or in violation of these terms.

SGO listings

Directory entries may come from state registries, research imports, or information an SGO submits when it claims or edits a listing. If you manage a listing, you represent that you are authorized to do so and that the information you provide is accurate. We may review, edit, unpublish, or remove listings, including unclaimed or incomplete ones.

Listing tiers and prices are shown on List Your SGO. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. The pricing page currently offers a 14-day trial on paid plans and states that you can cancel anytime. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored on our servers. For billing questions or cancellation help, email hello@sgolist.com.

Family and donor tools

Eligibility screeners, tax credit calculators, and state guides are educational. They are not a determination that you qualify for a scholarship, tax credit, or any other benefit. Program rules change. Confirm details with the SGO, your state agency, and a qualified tax or legal professional.

Nothing on the Service is tax, legal, or financial advice. Information about state tax credit programs is descriptive only.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misrepresent an organization, listing, or your authority to manage one.
• Submit false donor inquiries or harvest contact information from the directory.
• Interfere with the Service, its security, or other users' accounts.
• Use the Service to send spam, malware, or unlawful content.
• Copy or republish the directory at scale except as allowed by a listing badge or other written permission.

Content and trademarks

The SGOlist name, site design, and original content on the Service belong to SGOlist or its licensors. SGO names, logos, and program descriptions belong to those organizations or public sources. You keep ownership of content you submit; you grant us a license to host and display it as part of operating the directory and related features.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is." We do not warrant that listings, counts, program rules, or calculator results are complete or current. State-sourced and imported data can be incomplete. We are not responsible for the acts, scholarships, or donation practices of any SGO or school listed on the site.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SGOlist is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost scholarships, tax outcomes, donations, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for listing subscriptions in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you have not paid us.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may also change or discontinue parts of the Service, including features still marked coming soon.
